Every material has its purpose.
We choose fabrics for their composition, provenance, construction and performance. Natural where they excel, engineered where the application demands it. Alongside each fabric we record its origin, its intended use and the evidence we hold for it.
What touches the skin deserves particular attention. Our swim shorts are lined in AquaLite, from France, or Aqua Air, from Portugal; each product page names which. Where a fabric carries a certificate, its entry names it and what it covers. How we verify

Silk throwers turned stretch pioneers. In 1965 Pierre Payen developed the covered elastic yarn that made the house the European leader in stretch. From yarn to finished fabric across its own sites in the Ardèche: yarn covering at Berrias-et-Casteljau, weaving, dyeing and finishing at Les Vans, no step subcontracted. The mill reports 94% low-carbon electricity.

Standards
Whether a fibre grew or was engineered says little on its own about what reaches the skin. What matters is the fibre, the dyes, the finishes and the mill, and whether the finished cloth has been tested. Each fabric above records those four things, and its verification line is labelled by kind: skin-contact testing of the article, a supplier's own credential, an origin declaration, a chemical declaration, or an environmental measurement. Where a line is absent, nothing is on file yet.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certifies textiles tested against limits for several hundred regulated substances, among them formaldehyde, heavy metals, bisphenols and allergenic dyes. Product class II covers articles in direct contact with the skin. A certificate is valid for one year, names the articles it covers, and can be checked by number at oeko-tex.com.
A mill's certificate speaks for the mill; where it names the article we use, the fabric says so. Where a question remains open, we test rather than assume, and results are added here as they arrive.
Care
Rinse swimwear in fresh water after the sea or the pool. Wash cold, with like fabrics, and dry in shade. Skip the tumble dryer and the iron. Cared for this way, a piece keeps its colour and shape over time.
